Talamone

Talamone rises on a small cape to the south extremity of the Mountains of Uccellina which rule the gulf of Argentario. Since the antiquity was settled first by the Etruschi and then by the Romans. A lucky archaeological digging bring to the light an Etruscan terracotta pediment which represents the myth of the Seven against Thebe, dated back to the 150a.c.. In the Middle Age, under the power of the Sienese, the port becomes the principal and the trade emporium of the hinterland, always in the same period was built “ La Rocca” that still today dominates the country.
